Sirius Black is arrested for the betrayal of James and Lily and the murder of Peter Pettigrew and twelve Muggles. He is falsely convicted without trial and sent to Azkaban. Pettigrew goes into hiding in his Animagus form of a rat.
- 1984: Natalia Tena, the actress who plays Nymphadora Tonks, is born.
- 1993: At three a.m. the staff ends searching Hogwarts Castle for any sign of Sirius Black.
